About Me
After a career of over 40 years as an academic psychologist, I started a new career as a public historian of Chinese American history that led to five Yin & Yang Press books and over 100 book talks about the lives of early Chinese immigrants and their families operating laundries, restaurants, and grocery stores. This blog contains more research of interest to supplement my books.

Interactive Map of Number of Asian Americans Per County
The just released Pew Center Survey Report, The Rise of Asian Americans has a handy mapping of the number of Asian Americans for 6 major subgroups for each county in the U.S. If you place your cursor over any spot on the map on this link, you will see how many Chinese (or you can choose another of the 6 Asian American subgroups surveyed by the Pew Center) live in that county as well as its total number of all Asian Americans and its total population.
The illustrative map below for Hyde County, S. D. shows there is 1 Chinese out of the 7 Asian Americans among the 1420 residents there.
